Apostille Online in Chennai: Start with Scans, Track Progress and Get Documents Couriered Back
Can you get an apostille online?
Partly. The apostille itself is placed on your original document, so the originals still have to reach the authorities. For some universities, the MEA’s e-Sanad system allows online verification and an e-apostille. For most documents, though, the practical way to do it “online” is to start with scans and send originals by courier.
apostille.net.in lets people across Chennai and its suburbs start online: send scans on WhatsApp or email, get a free check and a quote, then courier the originals and receive them back at home.

Each MEA apostille carries a unique number that the receiving authority abroad can verify.
Apostille or attestation: which one do you need?
Hague Convention countries need an apostille, not embassy attestation. Embassy attestation is used for countries outside the Hague Convention. A few member countries, such as Germany and mainland China, do not accept apostilles from India and follow their own rules.

How long does an online apostille take?
It depends on the document. Once a document is ready for submission, the apostille stage can take 2–3 working days. Educational certificates usually take longer, because the issuing university must verify them and the state government must authenticate them first. Courier time is added at both ends. We give you a realistic timeline after checking your documents.
Common mistakes with online apostille
Laminated certificates. Lamination can cause problems during verification and apostille, so don’t laminate certificates you may need abroad.
Name mismatches. Different spellings on your passport and certificates can lead to questions later. Check them before you start.
Poor scans. Blurred or cropped scans make the initial check unreliable. Scan the full page in colour.
Untracked courier. Always use a tracked courier for originals.

Yes. We update you at each stage on WhatsApp or email.
How much does online apostille cost?
It depends on the document and steps. We provide an itemised quotation.
Can someone else submit my documents?
