MEA Apostille in Coimbatore: Ministry of External Affairs Apostille for Indian Documents
What is MEA apostille?
MEA apostille is the apostille issued by the Consular, Passport and Visa Division of India’s Ministry of External Affairs. It is the only apostille issued by India and is accepted by Hague Convention countries that have not objected to India.
The MEA does not verify documents itself. It relies on the state government, university or other authority that has already authenticated the document. apostille.net.in handles these earlier steps and MEA submission for people across Coimbatore district and the western Tamil Nadu belt.

Each MEA apostille carries a unique number that the receiving authority abroad can verify.
Apostille or attestation: which one do you need?
Hague Convention countries need an apostille, not embassy attestation. Embassy attestation is used for countries outside the Hague Convention. A few member countries, such as Germany and mainland China, do not accept apostilles from India and follow their own rules.

How long does MEA apostille take?
It depends on the document. Once a document is ready for submission, the apostille stage can take 2–3 working days. Educational certificates usually take longer, because the issuing university must verify them and the state government must authenticate them first. We give you a realistic timeline after checking your documents.
Common mistakes with MEA apostille
Laminated certificates. Lamination can cause problems during verification and apostille, so don’t laminate certificates you may need abroad.
Name mismatches. Different spellings on your passport and certificates can lead to questions later. Check them before you start.
Submitting without state authentication. Most documents need state authentication before the MEA will apostille them.
Using unofficial channels. Make sure your documents go through proper MEA submission.
